When a target customer announces an expansion, sales needs details: what the new line will produce, where it is located and whether the existing contact is involved. Search finds a lead; the next work is reading the announcement and matching it with the team’s account information.
On October 17, DeepSeek announced access to its in-house search API. Its documentation separates Search, which returns structured results, from Fetch, which retrieves a page as Markdown. Developers can incorporate discovery and source reading into their own applications.
The change adds another way to obtain public information for account research. An enterprise can decide what to investigate, which sources to prioritise and what deserves a salesperson’s attention. The interfaces require integration, and search summaries still need checking against the original page.

Match an expansion announcement to the right account
For example, subsidiaries in the same group may manufacture different products and buy in different regions. A group-level story may concern a different legal entity from the account being pursued. Research should retain the announcing entity, project location and date, then connect them with the CRM identifier, contacts and earlier discussions. This is an illustrative sales-research situation.
DeepSeek documents filters for sites, languages and dates, which can narrow a search. A recent page is useful to discover, but the timing of the underlying project still comes from its text. A news report, company announcement and planned production date may be months apart.
A research brief can distinguish what the announcement establishes from what sales wants to ask. A new line may be a public fact; demand for the seller’s equipment, services or products needs a conversation. That distinction makes the brief more useful in a customer meeting.
Mokyun customer-research digital employees can support this preparation by organising authorised public sources, CRM information and meeting notes around an account and opportunity. Changes and suggested questions go to sales. Web research is one input; earlier commitments and internal context still come from company records.
Using the new interfaces requires checking authentication, response fields, page readability and failures. This article describes a task design; DeepSeek Search compatibility with Mokyun has not been verified. The salesperson’s material should retain sources and open questions to support the next conversation.
A brief also takes work after discovery
The current documentation bills Search and Fetch separately per successful request. A brief’s budget needs the number of searches and retrieved pages, subsequent model processing and human review. Prioritising primary material that informs a decision can reduce repeated reading as the number of pages grows.
A first trial can use a set of actively pursued accounts and ask sales to prepare from the resulting briefs. Record whether developments lead to original sources, entities match and repeated searches are reduced. After the conversation, confirmed information returns to the account record.
